Learning about business and entrepreneurship is not the same as being able to actually start and run a business, just like learning about swimming is definitely not the same as being able to swim. In this 3 hour session, young adults will engage practically with the foundations of entrepreneurship and apply those immediately in creating an idea that is innovative and makes business sense. The workshop is facilitated by experienced, active entrepreneurs who have started and run their own businesses and are able to transfer that experience in a real and fun manner to young adults. The following concepts are covered across the whole course:
Coaches Profile:
Lisa Illingworth is the CEO and co-founder of FutureProofSA. She is a qualified educator turned entrepreneur and is deeply connected to growing each young entrepreneur. Lisa has been invited to guest lecture at numerous educational institutions on the subject of entrepreneurial education. She delivered the opening address at the University of Johannesburg’s launch of their entrepreneurship precinct and has guest lectured on the subject of social entrepreneurship for GIBS, the University of the Witwatersrand MBA programs, and the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. She has also pitched on the reality TV show Shark Tank and won investment.
What happens after the Workshop?
There are monthly sessions that cover a range of topics from creating a business model to effective team building. The participants are then given access to a group of coaches from the CEO and founders of FutureProof to specialists in marketing, legal, finance, and sales. They will also get the opportunity to pitch in competitions such as the FNB Business Innovation Awards, click here to view the last events’ participants.
